We’re Going On A Bear Hunt

Synopsis:

English: Narrative - Children will use the story and video of "We're Going On A Bear Hunt" as a stimulus. They will consolidate their understanding of word classes (nouns, verbs, adverbs and prepositional phrases) and apply this to a sequencing and retelling of the story.

Art: Children create a collate represent obsticals using a range of materials.

Media & Materials In collage, mix materials to create texture eg coiling, overlapping and montage In painting, mix colours to make secondary colours and add white to make tints/black to make tones In painting, use a variety of thick and thin brushes to produce lines and shapes, textures and patterns In print, use repeat or overlapping shapes (using objects to create print)

Significant Artists Describe differences and similarities and make links to own work Know about the work of a range of artists, craft makers and designers

Vocabulary Use correct artistic vocabulary eg tone, tint, pattern, texture

Skills Use and apply art and design techniques in using colour, patterns, texture, line, shape, form and space with range of materials

Plan, Draft, Edit & Evaluate Plan/say aloud what they are going to write, sentence by sentence Evaluate own writing with teacher/other pupils Re -read for sense and verb tense consistency Proof -read for errors in spelling, grammar and punctuation Write down key ideas/words/vocabulary

Grammar & Punctuation Use expanded noun phrases Use subordination (when, if, that., because )Use co -ordination (or, and, but)

Text Structure & Features Become increasingly familiar with and retell a wider range of stories, fairy stories and traditional tales
